Description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining machinery, mechanical systems, electrical equipment, and other critical infrastructure within the facility. They ensure all systems are functioning efficiently and safely, conducting preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues, and performing emergency repairs as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Routine Maintenance: Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and systems to reduce the likelihood of failures or breakdowns. This includes lubricating parts, changing filters, and inspecting and testing systems.

Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and system malfunctions, and execute repairs quickly to minimize downtime. Troubleshoot problems with equipment, wiring, plumbing, heating, cooling, and electrical systems.

Inspection: Conduct regular inspections of machinery, systems, and infrastructure to ensure compliance with safety regulations, operational efficiency, and proper functioning.

Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and inventory levels for parts and tools.

Equipment & System Upgrades: Assist with the installation and upgrading of machinery, systems, and equipment to ensure the facility remains modern and efficient.

Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns and equipment failures, using troubleshooting skills to identify issues and take necessary actions to restore operations.

Collaboration: Work with other team members and departments (e.g., production, safety) to address issues and improve facility operations.

Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, procedures, and environmental regulations, and ensure that equipment is maintained in compliance with industry standards.

Inventory Management: Track and manage inventory for spare parts and tools required for maintenance tasks.

Other Duties: Perform any other duties as assigned by the maintenance supervisor or manager.
