Responsibilities:
Assist lead teachers in implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities that support the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of children
Engage children in meaningful learning experiences, including art, music, language, math, science, and outdoor play
Foster positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues, and maintain open communication to support the well-being and development of each child
Supervise and ensure the safety and security of children at all times, both indoors and outdoors
Assist with daily routines, including meal times, nap times, toileting, and transitions between activities
Support children with special needs or individualized learning plans, and collaborate with lead teachers and specialists to provide appropriate accommodations and interventions
Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting classroom environment that reflects the interests and needs of children
Observe and assess children’s progress and development, and document observations for assessment and reporting purposes
Attend staff meetings, professional development workshops, and training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills in early childhood education
Adhere to licensing regulations, policies, and procedures established by the school/childcare center and regulatory agencies
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or related field preferred
Previous experience working with young children in a childcare setting, preschool, or elementary school preferred
Knowledge of child development principles, early childhood education theories, and best practices
Ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues and communicate effectively in a professional and respectful manner
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children and supporting their growth and development
Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and routines, and willingness to take on a variety of tasks and responsibilities
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
Background check and clearance required for employment in childcare settings
