Job Description:
We are looking for friendly and reliable Cashiers to join our team. As a Cashier, you will be the face of our supermarket, providing excellent customer service while accurately and efficiently handling transactions. Responsibilities:
Greet customers as they approach the checkout counter in a friendly and welcoming manner.
Scan and ring up customer purchases accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
Process various forms of payment, including cash, credit cards, and digital wallets, and provide accurate change when necessary.
Ensure that all items are properly priced, and discounts or promotions are applied as appropriate.
Bag groceries and other items for customers, ensuring items are handled with care and bags are properly packed.
Verify customer identification for age-restricted purchases, such as alcohol or tobacco.
Assist customers with inquiries, provide product information, and offer assistance in locating items within the store.
Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, including cleaning conveyor belts, counters, and scanning equipment.
Handle customer returns or exchanges following store policies and procedures.
Monitor and report any suspicious or unusual activities to the supervisor or store management.
Follow all cash-handling and security procedures to minimize the risk of theft or fraud.
Adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper handling of food and cleaning supplies.
Participate in cashier training and ongoing professional development as required.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience as a cashier or in a customer service role is preferred but not required.
Strong math skills and the ability to handle transactions accurately.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Attention to detail and the ability to work quickly and efficiently.
Friendly and approachable demeanor.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with POS systems is a plus.
Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Integrity and trustworthiness in handling cash and customer information.
