Description

Responsibilities:
Assist students in boarding and exiting the school bus safely, especially young children or those with special needs.
Maintain a safe and orderly environment inside the bus by enforcing school district policies and addressing disruptive behavior.
Assist in securing students with seat belts or other safety restraints, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Communicate effectively with bus drivers, school staff, and parents to provide updates on student behavior, delays, or other relevant information.
Be familiar with and follow emergency procedures, including evacuations and first aid, in case of unforeseen circumstances or accidents.
Provide additional support to students with special needs, ensuring their comfort and safety during transit.
Keep the bus clean and organized, reporting any maintenance issues to the bus driver or appropriate authorities.
Maintain accurate records of daily attendance for each bus route.

Qualifications:
Previous experience working with children or in a school environment is preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students, bus drivers, and school staff.
Patience and understanding, especially when dealing with students of varying ages and needs.
Ability to assist with securing special needs students and respond to emergency situations quickly.
Ability to work collaboratively with bus drivers and other school staff to ensure a safe and efficient transportation environment.
Successful completion of a background check and any required training programs.
First aid and CPR certification are often preferred.c
