Responsibilities:
Greet customers as they enter the store and provide friendly and efficient service throughout their shopping experience.
Scan and process customer purchases accurately and efficiently using point-of-sale (POS) systems or cash registers.
Accept cash, credit/debit cards, vouchers, or other forms of payment from customers and provide change and receipts as needed.
Ensure pricing accuracy and apply any discounts, promotions, or coupons to customer transactions in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Bag or package customer purchases neatly and securely, assisting with loading items into bags or carts as necessary.
Maintain cleanliness and organization at the checkout area, including clearing clutter, sanitizing surfaces, and replenishing supplies such as bags and receipt paper.
Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and returns courteously and professionally, resolving issues promptly and escalating concerns to management when necessary.
Balance cash registers at the end of shifts and reconcile sales transactions, ensuring accuracy in cash counts and reporting any discrepancies or errors to supervisors.
Follow proper cash handling procedures and security protocols to safeguard cash and minimize the risk of theft or loss.
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations, assist with restocking shelves, and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent qualification required.
Previous experience in retail, customer service, or cashiering preferred but not required; training will be provided.
Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail to ensure accurate cash handling and transaction processing.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact positively with customers and colleagues in a fast-paced environment.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with POS systems or cash registers.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift and move items weighing up to [XX] pounds.
